Reading Action Program
|
As we head into the summer months, we are thrilled to announce that we are now part of the Lions Reading Action Program. We have always tried to put children's books into family hampers, but now the Lions will help by supplying us with books. Thank you to the Lions for inviting us to be part of an excellent program to support literacy!

Can't wait till next week when Women on a Mission fills out the cheque and makes the presentation to the food bank! They wanted to keep it a surprise till the night of the presentation, but said it was a record year for their fundraiser event.
Women On a Mission

Thank you to all the ladies who planned and those who attended the WOAM fundraiser event on Saturday, May 3rd. A food donation as part of admission added up to 237.5 lbs to help the Ailsa Craig & Area Food Bank support families throughout our service area! Part of the cash proceeds from the night will also be coming to the food bank. We are grateful for the tremendous support WOAM has provided to our organization both now and in the past. Thank you also the the heroes of WOAM 2014... local firefighters, police and paramedics who served and catered to the ladies at this year's event celebrating the theme "Superheroes & Fairy Tales". I was proud to help out at this year's gala representing both the food bank & my fellow firefighters. Thank you to a great group of men and women who serve and care for our communities!
Building Fund Donation
|
Thank you to the Catholic Women's League of Sacred Heart Parish in Parkhill for their generous donation and all the hard work that went into raising it! We're $1000.00 closer to our new home.
Building Campaign Progress Report
|
I want to start with a thank you to the many people who have supported both the work of the food bank and our building campaign fundraising efforts over the past months. From the campaign kickoff in February till now we have been able to raise over $134,000.00. Our preliminary building plans are displayed at the food bank for those interested in seeing them. It's also a great opportunity to ask us any questions in person that you may have about our vision and plans for the future. We are currently in the process of a variance application to achieve our building permits. Once our building plans are approved by the municipality we will be able to release them for tender and be able to share more concretely what the project will cost. I will do my best to keep our supporters updated regularly on the project including our fundraising events. Thank you again for supporting our efforts to be "Helping Hands, Reaching Out, Buidling Hope"!
